Ann has over 20 years of experience in both academic and corporate research settings serving clients ranging from institutions of higher education to Fortune 500’s, non-profits, political candidates, and the media. She is a skilled communicator, strategist, and public speaker, adept at working with interdisciplinary teams of senior executives to translate strategic challenges into viable research strategies, and findings into actionable results. Ann has had a relationship with Maguire Associates for over 15 years, first as Senior V.P. for Research, then as a co-founder and head of research at Internet-based spinoff DiscoverWhy, and currently as an independent consultant with her own practice, Cogent Consortium. Like Maguire, her clients are often market research companies seeking her special expertise in communications research both on and off the Internet. Ann has a research Ph.D. in psychology from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Vassar College. Ann’s personal interests include running, backpacking, adventure travel, music, and the study of human consciousness, and she is a published writer, illustrator, and photographer.
